Top 100 songs was in the pipeline for months. The initial shoot dates were postponed as the project grew larger and larger. What started out to be a micro scale single camera pre-recorded music link show, turned into live multi-camera performances with links in between.
Charlie was Director of Photography for this one, and put together an extensive kit list to allow cameras to have wireless return monitoring, setup a wireless video village and wireless focus for the crane. We opted to use the Fujinon XK lens’ across the 3 cameras. 14-35 / 19-90 / 20-120 varieties. The cine servo optics were perfect for creating the mood we were looking to achieve.
Lit by Tom Kinane, and Tony Edwards, all 5 sets (1 for each decade in music) looked phenomenal. Each shoot day we recorded 2 shows per decade.
Kit wise, we had a 12ft jimmy jib, and two roaming cameras. Everything was slated and shot to card on the PXW-FS7’s, and live audio recorded from the studio, to be mixed and mastered in post.
